What are the primary functions of the nervous system?

(N/A) In higher organisms,the nervous system performs three fundamental functions:
$(i)$ It receives sensory stimuli from the external and internal environment through nerves and transmits them to the brain.
$(ii)$ The brain processes and interprets the information received from these stimuli.
$(iii)$ It transmits the response generated by the brain in the form of nerve impulses to the specific body parts or cells to execute an action.
