(N/A) Diseases or infections which are transmitted through sexual intercourse are collectively called sexually transmitted diseases $(STDs)$,venereal diseases $(VD)$,or reproductive tract infections $(RTI)$.
Although awareness about these infections is widespread,these conditions are most frequently observed in the age group of $15$ to $24$ years.
$STDs$ are often referred to as 'self-invited' diseases because they can be largely prevented by adopting the following precautionary measures:
$(i)$ Avoid sexual contact with unknown partners or multiple partners.
$(ii)$ Always use condoms during sexual intercourse.
$(iii)$ In case of any doubt or symptoms,consult a qualified doctor for early detection and ensure complete treatment if diagnosed with an infection.
