During secondary growth,the cells of medullary rays adjoining these intrafascicular cambia become meristematic and form interfascicular cambium. Thus,a continuous ring of vascular cambium is formed. Initially,this ring appears wavy because it originates from different sources,but it soon becomes circular due to the activity of the cambium.
