The second male gamete fuses with the two polar nuclei (or the secondary nucleus) to form the Primary Endosperm Nucleus $(PEN)$. This process is known as triple fusion $(n + n + n = 3n)$. The $PEN$ subsequently undergoes repeated mitotic divisions to form the endosperm,which provides nutrition to the developing embryo.
