Explain the digestive system of cockroach with the help of a labelled sketch.

(N/A) The digestive system of a cockroach consists of an alimentary canal divided into three regions: $Foregut$,$Midgut$,and $Hindgut$.
$1$. $Foregut$: It includes the mouth,pharynx,esophagus,crop (for food storage),and gizzard (for grinding food).
$2$. $Midgut$: It is a narrow,tubular structure lined with glandular epithelium. At the junction of the foregut and midgut,there are $6-8$ blind tubules called hepatic caeca that secrete digestive juices.
$3$. $Hindgut$: It is broader than the midgut and consists of the ileum,colon,and rectum. At the junction of the midgut and hindgut,there are $100-150$ yellow-colored,thin,filamentous Malpighian tubules which help in the excretion of excretory products from the hemolymph.
