(N/A) The shoot apex exhibits positive phototropism. This phenomenon occurs because of differential growth in the stem,which is caused by the unequal distribution of the hormone auxin. When light falls on one side of the shoot,auxin migrates to the shaded side. Higher concentration of auxin on the shaded side promotes faster cell elongation compared to the illuminated side,causing the plant to bend toward the light source.
