(C) Sucrose is a disaccharide composed of $\alpha-D-glucose$ and $\beta-D-fructose$ linked by a glycosidic linkage between $C1$ of glucose and $C2$ of fructose. Since both the anomeric carbons are involved in the glycosidic bond,it is a non-reducing sugar. On hydrolysis,sucrose yields an equimolar mixture of $D-(+)-glucose$ and $D-(-)-fructose$. This mixture is called invert sugar because the sign of optical rotation changes from dextrorotatory $(+66.5^{\circ})$ to levorotatory $(-39.9^{\circ})$.
