Its primary function is to facilitate water reabsorption from the distal convoluted tubules and collecting ducts of the nephrons in the kidneys. When there is a deficiency of $ADH$,the kidneys are unable to reabsorb water efficiently from the filtrate. As a result,a large volume of dilute urine is excreted,a condition known as diabetes insipidus. Therefore,the volume of urine will increase.
