(N/A) $(i)$ Location: The Malpighian layer (stratum germinativum) is the deepest basal layer of the epidermis in stratified squamous epithelium.
$\Rightarrow$ Function: The cells in this layer divide continuously by mitosis to produce new cells,which replace the worn-out cells of the outer layers,thereby facilitating tissue repair and regeneration.
$(ii)$ Location: Adipose tissue is primarily found beneath the skin (subcutaneous layer),around internal organs,and in the bone marrow.
$\Rightarrow$ Function: It acts as an energy reservoir,provides cushioning for organs,and functions as an insulating layer to maintain body heat.
