(N/A) The Government of India launched the $GAP$ ($Ganga$ $Action$ $Plan$) in $1985$. The primary objective of this multi-crore project was to improve the water quality of the river Ganga by intercepting,diverting,and treating domestic sewage and preventing toxic and industrial chemical wastes from entering the river.
