(N/A) Water is a universal solvent and is capable of dissolving a large number of substances. As rivers flow over the Earth's surface,they pass over various types of rocks and soil. The water dissolves soluble minerals present in these rocks and soil through the process of weathering and erosion. These dissolved minerals are then transported by the river currents and eventually deposited into the sea,thereby increasing the mineral content of sea water.
