Sandy soil has large particles and high porosity,allowing fast infiltration. Loamy soil has a balanced mixture of sand,silt,and clay,providing moderate infiltration. Black cotton soil (clayey soil) consists of very fine particles with high water-holding capacity and low permeability,which significantly restricts the movement of water through the soil profile. Therefore,water infiltration is slowest in black cotton soil.
