When $Zn(OH)_2$ is heated,it decomposes to form zinc oxide $(A)$: $Zn(OH)_2 \xrightarrow{\Delta} ZnO + H_2O$. $Zn(OH)_2$ dissolves in $NaOH$ to form sodium zincate $(C)$: $Zn(OH)_2 + 2NaOH \rightarrow Na_2ZnO_2 + 2H_2O$.
