Electrophilic substitution occurs at the positions ortho and para to the $-OCH_3$ group. The positions ortho to $-OCH_3$ are $2$ and $6$. Position $2$ is sterically hindered by the $-CH_3$ group at position $3$. The position para to $-OCH_3$ is position $4$.
