(A) The reaction is an electrophilic aromatic substitution (bromination) of $p$-terphenyl. In $p$-terphenyl,the terminal benzene rings are more activated towards electrophilic substitution compared to the central ring because the phenyl group acts as an ortho/para-directing group. The terminal rings have a free para position,which is sterically less hindered than the ortho position. Therefore,the electrophile $(Br^+)$ attacks the para position of one of the terminal benzene rings to form the major product.
