(A) વક્ર $y = f(x)$ ના સ્પર્શકનો ઢાળ વિકલન $\frac{dy}{dx}$ દ્વારા મળે છે.આપેલ વિધેય $y = \ln(\cos x)$ છે.સાંકળના નિયમ (chain rule) નો ઉપયોગ કરીને $x$ ની સાપેક્ષમાં વિકલન કરતા:$\frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{1}{\cos x} \cdot \frac{d}{dx}(\cos x)$$\frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{1}{\cos x} \cdot (-\sin x) = -	an x$.હવે,$x = \frac{3\pi}{4}$ આગળ વિકલનનું મૂલ્ય શોધતા:$\left(\frac{dy}{dx}ight)_{x = 3\pi/4} = -	an\left(\frac{3\pi}{4}ight)$.આપણે જાણીએ છીએ કે $	an\left(\frac{3\pi}{4}ight) = -1$,તેથી:$-	an\left(\frac{3\pi}{4}ight) = -(-1) = 1$.આમ,સ્પર્શકનો ઢાળ $1$ છે.
